We have been asked many times to write up our "lesson plans" so others could use them. Honestly, we just spend a little time thinking about how we want the "school year" to look and go from there. We wing-it a lot, doing impromptu things that add to our plans. I am always amazed that anyone would think what we do is worthy of writing down for others to read, but here it goes!
Come join us, at An Enchanted Childhood Playschool, as we continue to work through a letter of the alphabet each week: learning the sound, the ASL sign, the shape, and having all sorts of fun with related activites!
Despite having some sick days and long hours outside somedays, we managed to "do" a little alphabet work this week!
The Letter W for Weather
We sang our "home made" weather song:
What's the weather? What's the weather? What's the weather like today?
Tell me children, what's the weather? What's the weather like today?
Is it sunny? Is it rainy? Is it snowy out today?
It is cloudy? Its is windy? What's the weather like today?
(sang to the tune of "Oh my Darling Clementine")
W is for World
We worked on the World map, identifying continents (I love when 3 and 4 years olds can say the continents lol)!!
We also read some of our favorite books, both by Raffi : Baby Beluga (Whales) and Down by the Bay (Watermelon) and had lots of snuggle time!
Their "world maps" look reference-worthy (ha!). Nice job!
