An Enchanted Childhood ~ April 23rd-April 27th ~ The Letter Z

We have been asked many times to write up our "lesson plans" so others could use them.  Honestly, we just spend a little time thinking about how we want the "school year" to look and go from there.  We wing-it a lot, doing impromptu things that add to our plans.  I am always amazed that anyone would think what we do is worthy of writing down for others to read, but here it goes!

Come join us, at An Enchanted Childhood Playschool, as we continue to work through a letter of the alphabet each week: learning the sound, the ASL sign, the shape, and having all sorts of fun with related activites!

We started off the week with a few Earth Day activities!  We talked about the Earth that God created for us and how we should take care of it. We reviewed our continents and oceans. It is super fun to hear a "just turned two-year-old" rattle off the continents with minimal help! Go Bunny! We talked about recycling, reuisng, and repurposing. We then made "Earths" out of old cardboard!

And finally.FINALLY. The Letter Z!!! We have completed our year long alphabet study!!  Whoo hooo!!

Z is for Zoo and Zebra!

Daily, the children are read to many, many times. One child will pick out a book and asked one of us to read it to them.... and it is like a magnet.  No matter what else the children are doing, they scurry over to find a place on the couch!

We started the week off with snow. Yes, after last week's 80* weather. But by mid week, it
 was warmer and drier and we got a few good days of OutSide Play!!
