Wonderfull (Full of Wonder) Wednesday

Looking for the wonder in everyday life!
I'd love for you to join me on this journey.
If you find wonder along the way, please leave a link in the comments,
so others can share in your wonder

It is a wonderfull thing to have so many winter birds right outside your window!

"If a child is to keep his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in." Rachel Carson

A Funky Junky Wind Chime at Eco-Kids Tuesday

I have been trying to instill in Bunny my love of upcycling. So when I saw this idea on Pinterest, I started saving up cans.

I had Bunny paint three different sized cans in different colors

She was very picky about how she wanted each one to be.

Then I drilled holes (yes, this mama uses power tools), strung some fishing line through the cans, and added a few beads. Now we have a funky junky wind chime. Bunny and I both had fun with this project. I hope to make more during the cold months. Maybe we will have them hanging all the way down our porch by summer.

Now onto the Eco-Kids Tuesday Link-Up!  Welcome!!  Eco-Kids Tuesday is growing by leaps and bounds!!  We had so many great posts shared with us last week at Eco-Kids Tuesday! I enjoyed each and every one of them.  It is getting harder and harder each week to pick just a few features!  Here are three of my favorites.

I have a fondness for dandelions! Wildcraft Vita shared 40 things to do with dandelions.

Toward the end of the article they have a list of suggestions to get you started.  While we already do several, I am planning to do a few more this year!

A Snowy Sunday

Yesterday was a snowy Sunday. With Papa working dayshift and some cabin fever brewing, my sister, Katie, came over and we took the girls out in the snow.

First, we did a few chores.

With Squirrely on my back (her first time and it was awesome), and Bunny in the sled pulled by Katie, we decided to hike up on the ridge.

We checked out some tracks in the snow (Just like Crinkleroot!), and made some of our own.

Baby Squirrel fell asleep in the Ergo.

 I <3 baby wearing!

Afterward, we went home and warmed up with some healthy hot cocoa and brinner (breakfast for dinner).
Yummy bacon and some happy eggs!

Each week I joined several linky parties!  What a fun way to share and learn!

Winter Carnival Highlights ~ January 27th

sunnydaytodaymama

It is such a blessing to be a co-host of The All Year Round Blog Carnival: Winter! There are sooo many great ideas shared there all winter long!  Be sure you take time to check out the additions often! On Sundays I like to highlight a few of my favorites!
Simply Whimsy shared their gorgeous ice decorations!

As a child we used spray bottles to write messages in the snow, much like
Smiling Like Sunshine did in this post about snow painting!

Making Multicultural Music shared a variety of ways to make jungle bells!

I keep this linky party up all winter! It can be found at the top of my blog!

An Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ January 21st-25th ~ The Tomten

We had planned to read the Tomten books this week.  The cold front with several inches of snow made it even better!!

We did a new activity for us!  We read The Tomten story and for each animal in the book,
the children got one of the same plastic animal for their tray of snow!
They loved it!

The "preschool" boys did some "school".

More Tomten reading and snow play (big hit!)

Bunny painted a snow scene!

Then using a variety of left-over stickers, we read The Tomten and The Fox and reread The Tomten, adding stickers to represent the stars, the Tomten, and the various animals!

Bunny was quick to point out the sticker was a daddy cow, not a mommy cow like in the book!

She was also not quite sure about using Mr McGregor as the Tomten..
but I assured her it was just pretend!
And since she loves to pretend, she was happy with that!

Be sure to check "Our Favorites" book-widget on the right.  You will find our weekly books there!
If you click through to Amazon and purchase a book, I will earn a commission.
I haven't received any money yet, but there is always hope!
