The Midwife Apprentice's Bag

For Bunny's 2nd birthday, my mama (Bunny's Nana) put together a "Little Midwife" bag for her!
She bought this sweet bag from Esty.

This bag was perfect...a Bunny (big sister) with a Squirrel (little sister).
Nana was quite pleased with herself!

The she filled it with all sorts of midwifey things..
a pinard, stethoscope, a blood pressure cuff, a tape measure, and a watch.

My midwives are so good to include Bunny in every check-up!

Leila, a long time acquaintance, is studying midwifery...

under "My Ruth" a long time midwife.

We are blessed to have them both in our lives!

  1. Ok you are going to have to excuse my total ignorance - whats a pinard? I love that your daughter is included. It was hard enough getting our midwife to include my husband!

    1. A pinard is used to listen (seems more like feel on your ear drum) the baby's heartbeat.. a fetal stethoscope. Obviously *I* don't get to try it out lol but she (the baby) is big enough that even nontrained people can "hear" the heartbeat through it!

  2. I absolutely adored my midwives. When I had my second, they included my oldest in everything and he was there when his baby brother was born. It was an amazing experience

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your nice comment. :) What a nice gift for your little one, when my daughter was young one of her favorite things was an old stethoscope. I love the fabric of the bag as well. :)

  7. Hannah - I just love how involved Bunny is with your pregnancy. Will she be there for the labor and delivery?

And how cute and perfect is that bag your mom bought?

    1. Hi Sarah-- I think she will be there for all of it... as long as she wants to be and is happy to be there. My little sis (15) will be handy to play with her, take walks.. whatever Bunny needs, as well as Kyle and my mama.

  10. That is just gorgeous! What a lovely way to include her. I'm currently studying nursing/midwifery and I so look forward to helping families have a wonderfully inclusive pregnancy and birth.
