Garden Planning at Eco-Kids Tuesday Link-Up

It is the time of year when all the seed catalogs start showing up at my house.

Though I am ordering some seeds,

I really don't need the stack of six or so catalogs laying around.

So I came up with a project to do with all the extras.

Notice the lovely blanket tent that was gracing my table that day.

I was finishing some tidying while to children started their task.

I gave each child a couple of catalogs, a pair of safety scissors, and a glue stick, and told them to cut out pictures of what the would want in their garden... and make a collage.

Thy set about their task and kept at it for quite a while.

Every now and then pausing to show me a veggie that they love or to ask for help cutting.

But for the most part, they were very consumed with their work.

Bunny ended up with apples, pumpkins, watermelon, strawberries, spaghetti squash, peas, brussel sprouts (which she has never eaten), and blueberries in her garden.

Looks like a very good garden indeed!

I love this idea!!!  Our Neck of the Woods shared with us not only her cough drop recipe, but more importantly her "Pioneer Women".  Several family members come together to learn crafts and DIY projects!  What  great idea!!  My mama and I have done that from time to time, but not monthly! 

Wildcraft Vita made some healthy, herbal "gift" teas!  Very sweet!

Cassidy from Freshly Planted made the sweetest Valentine books with her children!
