We love our handy basket!
Lately, we have gotten into the habit of taking a basket with us on our two+ hours, outside adventures, each morning. Our snacks, water, a wet washcloth, scissors...whatever we or the children think we might need goes into the basket. On this day, some books and a boat for the creek got tossed in, as well.
Soon, flower chains got added by little girls who wanted to rip and run and feared their newly-made crowns might fall off.

About thirty minutes later, the basket had apple cores, saved to feed the chickens, along with a large brown leaf that "feels like paper" and Queen Anne's Lace to dye that afternoon.
Later that morning, after feeding the scraps to the chickens, we were blessed to get to fill the basket (and our bellies) up with garden goodies to take home for lunch: kale, cucumbers, peppers, a cantalope (which had been nibbled on by a mouse or some such animal), and broccoli. The empty water jars got refilled with tomatoes!
Yes, we love our handy basket!!!

What a great basket - I need to work out something like this as at the moment our pockets are full to over flowing.

ReplyDeleteHow sweet! The little grands and I will definetly start carrying a basket on our walks. It will be a lot more fun than the tail of my shirt!
