Sometimes things don't work out quite like you plan. This week's topic was The Day Sky. And most days, the day sky looked ... ummm.... Gray! But we rallied and managed to spend lots of time outside!
We started off the week making fluffly cloud prints.
We used a mix of equal parts shaving creme and "school" glue, adding a little gray paint since it was soooo gray outside. The children painted clouds on their work trays. We then laid a sheet of construction paper on top and patted it down.
When we lifted the paper, we had gorgeous clouds on the blue "sky"!
After reading a book about the summer solstice, called The Longest Day by Wendy Pfeffer, and singing our songs about the seasons and months... we headed out to make SUN necklaces! Orange and yellow paint on cardstock suns. Easy!
After "Project Time", the children pick our "adventure".
Some days we go up Bear Cave Path, other days they head up The Nature Path...
...to Two Tree Mountain and Two Tree Mountain Mudslide (yes we name everything!)
Having older siblings here for "Summer Camp" is often so sweet!
At least once a week, the children choose to go visit the garden.
While they eat from all over the garden, this one raised bed belongs to them!
All organic. All yummy!

It has been such fun to pull up a carrot, not knowing what color it might be!!
