An Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ December 17th-21st ~ More Christmas Fun!

Another fun week with books and crafts and elfing and parties!

The Night Before Christmas and Star Santas!

I saw these cute Star Santas at Red Ted's Art Blog!

Our 1st playschool pomegranate!

The Wild Christmas Reindeer and two crafts!
Both crafts were made and then later given as gifts from the children to their parents.
.

We make these every year at playschool.  Some mamas have five years of reindeer ornaments!

And a little more crafting following the book God Gave Us Christmas.

Love these girlies!

There was connecting with old playschool friends..
some have been off to school and got to meet back up Friday.

Some birdwatching!

And some serious partying going on!

Thursday...

Bunny was very interested in The Polar Express!

...and Friday!

We wish all of you a very, merry Christmas.  We may be a little absent this week as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and spend time with our families!

I want to let you know that the books we read each week will be featured on the Amazon widget in the sidebar on your right.  If you purchase a book through this link, I hopefully (not so far, but maybe someday) will make a few cents.

{this moment}

Mama Mary riding her donkey

Bunny: I'm Mama Mary! (she calls most moms by mama or mommy and then their name)

Playschool Boy: Can I be Joseph? We need Baby Jesus and swaddling cloths!

Bunny: OK! Glory to the newborn king! Peace on earth and NURSIES mild!
(She then shoved Baby Jesus up her shirt and sang-- Baby Jesus better not cry, Santa Claus is coming to town!)

Playschool Boy: Glory to God in the highest! (He attends a local Catholic school and was just in the school Christmas play last evening!)

Nursing Baby Jesus

This will most likely be the last Christmas that Bunny is nursing.  I can see an end in sight.  Her latch is getting lazy and it is becoming less and less comfortable for both of us.  She likes to rub my lips and I think she will continue that long after she gives up on nursing.  I would like to continue as long as we are both happy with it, but I see the day coming when we move onto snuggles and book reading rather than nursing.  I will miss it.  It is nice to have something to force me to sit down and take a break from all the things that need doing, and just be. I need to make a point to just be with her.  Both with and without little sister.  Nursing or not.

Crafting Along With Needle And thREAD

Tree buttons that Papa Elf made.

This week has been jam packed full of craftiness.
Elfing, if you will.
So many things being made in preparation for Christmas.

Loving this fabric and these sweet little fairies starring at me while I work.

I have taken on the task of sew the girls' Christmas dresses. Using my favorite dress tutorial. I have made this type of dress nearly a dozen times. However, a new challenge presented itself as Bunny is now much too big for the measurements given. And Squirrley is still much too small. I had to come up with my own. Bunny's turned out great, but Squirrely's was a bit too tight. So I learned a new trick to expand it just enough to fit well.

Diamond added to the armpit for more room.

Now I just need to add some ribbon and they will be ready for Christmas.

Along with elfing, we have also been busy fighting colds. I have been reading up on all my natural remedies in an attempt to nip these sniffles in the bud.

You might notice that this picture was taken with the book laying on my carpeted floor.
That would be because we have been spending quite a bit of time sitting on the floor these days.
All of us.

Yay for little sister! Sitting at 5 months 10 days!
