Wonderfull (Full of Wonder) Wednesday

Looking for the wonder in everyday life!
I'd love for you to join me on this journey.
If you find wonder along the way, please leave a link in the comments,
so others can share in your wonder!

Learning. Learning about things you are interested in... is a wonderfull thing!
Horses are Bunny's latest passion!
And therefore she soaks up all she can about them...
No doubt, this is schooling at its very best and purest!

Eco-Kids Tuesday Link-Up and GREEN pops!

With the new year, we have been revamping our healthy eating. This means less processed food, less carby foods, more protein, and more greens. One of my favorite ways to get my greens is by drinking a green smoothie. But today I found another, possibly even more fun, way to get greens.

GREEN POPS!!!

All I did was take the green smoothie and pour it into the popsicle molds.
Stick them in the freezer for a couple of hours...
Tada!

Now onto the Eco-Kids Tuesday Link-Up!  Welcome!!  We had so many great posts shared with us last week at Eco-Kids Tuesday! I enjoyed each and every one of them.  It is getting harder and harder each week to pick just a few features!  Here are three of my favorites.

Since we had recently used epsom salts as "snow" in our Winter Wonderlands...

Life with Moore Babies made SNOW ice cream!
We LOVE snow ice cream around here!

Lindsey of Apple of Mama's Eye made these awesome floor pillows for her daughter!!!

Thanks to ALL of you for sharing such wonderful ideas!  If you were featured please feel free to grab a button for your blog.  And please keep linking up great all your Eco-Kid ideas!

Lightly Enchanted made some very nice recycled tin Chritsmas decorations!

The Tiger Chronicle shared their "pinecone birdfeeder" with us!
We make similar ones with our playschool children each year!

While we have made latern before, using tissue paper and glue on our jars,
Red Ted Art's Blog shares a new way to make them!

I keep this linky party up all winter! It can be found at the top of my blog!

An Enchanted Childhood Playschool ~ Winter ~ January 2nd - January 4th

We were surprised. Very surprised that after having eleven days off playschool, the children just fell right back into a  good rhythm and had a great, but short, week!

This month we are having fun with "winter"... winter books, winter crafts, winter play.....

Wednesday and Thursday, we read the beautiful book of Robert Frost's poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Gorgeous illustrations!

On Wednesday, after reading the poem, the children painted wooden snowflakes, using either glitter paint (the youngers) or acrylic paint and then glitter (the olders).

Thursday, they painted "snow" with Q-tips and then added in snowmen with various sized round paint sponges.

Friday, we read The Story of the Snow Children ... such a sweet book, written in the early 1900's. Then the children did a little craft.  I bought these at Target's $ Spot for 30cents a set.. set included a large snowman (maybe 18 inches tall) and a large amount of stickers to dress them up.. enough for front ans back and leftovers.  Good deal!!

{this moment}

{this moment}  - A Friday ritual inspired by SouleMama.  A photo capturing a moment from the week.  A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.  If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.'

Playing with horses led to making animal tracks in clay... which led to reading Crinkleroot's Nature Almanac and looking at various animal tracks ... which led to reading Crinkleroot's 25 Mammals Every Child Should Know (which, by the way, Bunny knows all of them.)

This is what school looks like in our home!

Thrifty Thursday -- Sewing

Last week, I wrote about sewing the girls' Christmas dresses.
I was very excited with how well they turned out.

My sister (Bunny calls her Mimi!) holding her youngest and my youngest.. both born at home!
Our family's 1st homebirths!

I also made them each a pair of pajama pants to wear Christmas Eve
(and of course many more times after.)

I originally found the tutorial for these pajama pants on Pinterest.
I have made several pairs and each one gets a little better.

Bunny and Squirrel looked so cute in their pjs Christmas morning.
And since I bought the red flannel fabric on sale ($2.50 a yard! Woo hoo!),
they came out to be very cheap to make.

Now on the THE PARTY!!!

My friend Lindsey, from Apple of Mama's Eye, and I love to save money!!  We love a good DIY project, thrift store shopping, making, growing, stretching ourselves to learn to make and do more at home!  So please join us with your DIY, $$ Saving, Simple Living Ideas!!
